Sterling College’s Cross Country team ended their 2019 season at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Nov. 9.
Both the men’s and women’s team placed 11th on the Four Mile Creek Resort in Augusta.
For the women, sophomore Robyn Selzer lead the Warrior runners in the 5K with a time of 21:58.02 to place 44th out of 102 runners.
Women’s basketball’s Hannah Slate placed 51st in her first meet of the season with a time of 22:12.20.
Women’s soccer’s Alexus Rodriguez also competed in her first meet of the year, finishing 80th with a time of 25:17.13.
Jaismon Travelbee ran a time of 25:59.87 to finish in 82nd.
Aaliyah Tarver placed 97th with a time of 30:04.28 while Nicole Alexander ran a time of 31:12.11 to land in 99th place.
On the men’s side, freshman Max Dutton closed out a strong season with a time of 28:38.41 in the 8K to finish 37th out of 114 runners.
Freshman Nathan Jones placed 97th with a time of 33:31.92, followed by men’s tennis player Blake Gladson, who ran a time of 34:42.58 to finish 101st.
Naythen Hill placed 108th with a time of 39:32.82, while Gavin Lierz ran a time of 43:44.07 to finish 114th.
“I was very pleased with the progress we made as a team throughout the year,” head cross country coach Cameron Magnall said.
For Magnall, the season ended well.
“We had some challenges, but the ream really rallied together and finished the year on a high point,” he said.
