Cevon Mitchell-Ford attempts to evade Ottowa’s Colby Johnson on his way to the end zone. Cedrick Phillips airs out a pass as Shaheem Sanders tries to pull away from an Ottawa defeneder. Phillips finished 14-of-22 in the air for 226 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 78 yards and a touchdown in the win earning KCAC offensive player of the week honors. Chance Whitehead secures a well-defended pass in the win over the Ottowa Braves. Whitehead had seven receptions for 98 yards in the game.
Sterling College put on yet another memorable Warrior Fest Sept. 21.
Festivities kicked off in downtown Sterling with face painting, free throw contest, mini street tennis matches, cornhole, football picture autographing, a pitching radar gun, train rides, street vendors and much more.
Later in the day, the women’s soccer team suffered a hard-fought loss to Central Christian College, but the men’s soccer team responded with a 5-1 victory over Kansas Christian College.
The football team capped off the day with a 37-29 win over the Ottawa University Braves to bring a celebratory end to the festivities.
