The cross country team started off the month of October with a trip to Fort Hays State University for the St. Tiger Open.
Running for the men were freshman Max Dutton, freshman Nathan Jones, and junior Gavin Lierz.
Running for the women were sophomore Robyn Selzer and junior Jaismon Travelbee.
The men competed against 131 runners, and Dutton finished 43rd with a time of 21:36.2, which he said was his fastest time this season and the seventh fastest time for a KCAC runner in the Men’s FHSU Black race.
“I feel really good. I’ve been pleased with the improvement I’ve had every meet so far,” he said. “I’m looking forward to running at conference and giving it my best to try and qualify for nationals.”
Jones and Lierz finished 129th and 130th respectively.
The women raced with 98 participates, and Selzer finishing 62nd with a time of 22:05.8. Also, Travelbee finished 89th with a time of 24:55.1.
